It’s that time again!
Well, it’s that time of year again! Competition is this weekend for Professional Photographers of Washington. We have our 60th annual Spring Conference at the Red Lion Hotel in Olympia, WA beginning Friday with an all day Suzette Allen workshop, continuing through a number of featured speakers, completing at noon on Tuesday.
If you’re interested, the photography competition is free, and open to the public, you’re welcome to come to the hotel and listen/watch as the judges go through numerous beautiful entries created by professionals from across this great state. Judging begins at 0900, breaks at noon for lunch, resumes at 1300 – and ends at 1600hrs. You’re free to come/go as you please, and there will be a trade show that opens to the public that evening, the tradeshow opens at 1800hrs, and the public is invited.
I enjoy competition, not because of the competing with peers, but because it makes me REALLY scrutinize my own work. It’s a bear, I tell ya! What doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger, right?
Call me kooky, but I don’t like to put my competition images in the public eye until AFTER judging! LOL Four images, four times a year. Tough.
