Pet Crazy!
I love photographing pets/animals. Always a challenge, all bets are off. :O) This is my girl Sophie, kicked out of school once… I swear it was that shepherd’s fault… ;o) Along side my driveway, we have a strip of grass (weeds, per husband). I won’t let him cut them, as I’d planned to use them for a portrait. Yesterday, when I arrived home from the Evergreen School of Professional Photography (week long school, but I’m driving up/back to Port Townsend), my girl was so excited to see me, I figured with a marshmallow in my pocket, this would be a great time to make that portrait. My dog will do ANYTHING for a marshmallow… I think she could crack a safe if you put a bag of KRAFT jet puffed marshmallows in it…
This was made using the Canon 85mm f/1.2 lens, ISO 200, off camera flash (580EX II) on a stand to backlight the grass and rim-light the dog’s profile. f/5.6 1/80th of a second. I love this lens, because the background it creates is soooo dreamy!
